The New York Times recently began including same-sex commitment ceremony announcements along with traditional wedding announcements. One of the first couples to be published was Amy Duddleston and Hilary Schroeder, whose ceremony Minister Deb had the pleasure of officiating. Below is a copy of the announcement as it read in the New York Times:

Amy Elizabeth Duddleston and Hilary Jean Schroeder, both freelance film editors, affirmed their partnership yesterday at the Wattles Mansion in Los Angeles. Deb Gordon, a minister of the Universal Life Church, performed the commitment ceremony.

Ms. Duddleston, 37, is the editor on "Welcome to Collinwood," a Warner Brothers film starring William H. Macy and George Clooney, which is in theaters now. She recently completed editing "Laurel Canyon," a Sony Pictures Classics film with Frances McDormand that is to be released next year. Ms. Duddleston graduated from the University of Arizona. Her parents, Frances and Thomas C. Duddleston Sr., live in Tucson. Her father, who is retired, was the news editor for The Tucson Citizen and her mother, also retired, was the accountant for the Alumni Association of the University of Arizona.

Ms. Schroeder, 32, is an associate editor on "Thirteen," a coming film starring Holly Hunter. Ms. Schroeder also worked as an assistant film editor with the director David Lynch on "Mulholland Drive" (2001) and "Lost Highway" (1997). She graduated from Northwestern University. Her father, William Schroeder Jr. of Wayland, Mass., is a principal consultant at User Interface Engineering, a computer consulting firm in Bradford, Mass. Her mother, Edith Schroeder, lives in Three Rivers, Calif., where she restores antiques.

Ms. Duddleston and Ms. Schroeder met in February 1998 in Los Angeles, where both were working as assistant editors on "Brokedown Palace."
